It would be incorrect to say it hasn't been glamorous, nor that it hasn't paid pretty well, or that it hasn't been exciting - it's been bloody fantastic! However in summary, this profession is tumultuous, diverse, all consuming and hopelessly irregular, and although anyone can do it, only a few can do it well.
